<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a program recording and reproducing apparatus which, when reproducing a program included in a continuous content including plural programs after stopping the reproduction of the content, reproduces the program from the stopping position of reproduction. <P>SOLUTION: According to this embodiment, there are provided a reception unit, recording means, reproduction means, and management means. The reception unit receives a broadcast stream transmitted from a broadcast station. The recording means corresponds to the broadcast stream and records, in a recording medium, one piece of broadcast data including plural pieces of program data. The reproduction means reproduces designated piece of program data from the one piece of broadcast data. The management means manages a reproduction restart position where the reproduction means starts the reproduction of a previous program which has been partially reproduced by the reproduction means.
