摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable positioning of an end face of an optical fiber in an optical axis direction without introducing an expensive polishing process and requiring no precise positioning device. <P>SOLUTION: An optical module used for optical coupling between an optical fiber and a surface type optical element includes: a surface type optical element 100; an optical fiber 200; a ferrule 300 having an electrical wiring 301 and a guide hole 302; and a sleeve 400 having a holding portion 401 for the optical fiber 200 and an abutting part 403 for the ferrule 300. The optical fiber 200 is fixed to the sleeve 400 protruding from one end of the sleeve 400, and the end face of the optical fiber 200 is formed on one end of the sleeve 400 as a reference. The optical fiber 200 is inserted into the guide hole 302 of the ferrule 300, and the ferrule 300 is fixed onto the abutting part 403 of the sleeve 400; thereby the end face of the optical fiber 200 is positioned with respect to the surface type optical element 100 in an optical axis direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
