The plate (2) has strip conductors for producing a conductive connection between contact surfaces (18) of two printed circuit boards (4, 6) that are provided with sense elements (14), where the plate is integrally formed and exhibits width of about lesser 8 mm. Metal contacts (20) are arranged along an edge of the plate for connecting with contact surfaces of the circuit boards. The circuit boards are arranged surface-parallel to each other in the plate. The metal contacts are connected with the contact surfaces of the circuit boards using a conductive adhesive or a tin soldering process. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for electrically and mechanically connecting two printed circuit boards (2) a method for manufacturing a linear path sensor.
