The method involves attaching divertors on or at surfaces of objects, where solar radiation is directly or indirectly transmitted to receivers i.e. photovoltaic or photothermal receivers, by the divertors. The solar radiation is processed by the receivers, fed into wave guides and/or directly transformed into electrical or thermal energy. The absorbed radiation is directly transmitted to a thermal storage and/or a load without previous transformation. The divertors are movable so that the divertors follow a path of the Sun trajectory to redirect the radiation to the receivers. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an optical unit (2) a distributor for optical radiation (3) a household appliance (4) a thermal storage.
