<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve steering feeling by reducing higher-order wheel rotational vibration. <P>SOLUTION: In an electric power steering system 1, a vibration reducing compensation amount calculating section 22 calculates a vibration reducing compensation amount to satisfy specifications where motor speed is reduced with respect to a road surface reaction force, the magnitude of which oscillates at frequencies corresponding to one, two, three, four, and five times a frequency corresponding to the number of rotations of tires 10 per second (hereinafter referred to as a basic wheel speed frequency), rather than the characteristic at the time when a motor 6 is driven without compensating a basic assist amount by the vibration reducing compensation amount, with regard to the characteristic of the speed of the motor 6 with respect to the road surface reaction force in the electric power steering system 1. An assist steering force for supporting the operation of a handle 2 is controlled to satisfy the specification above, wheel rotational vibration having the higher-order wheel speed frequency corresponding to the two, three, four and five times the basic wheel speed frequency is inhibited from being transmitted from the tires 10 to the handle 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
