<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular air conditioner that can prevent an engine from starting according to the external environment when the vehicle is started. <P>SOLUTION: Upon starting the vehicle from a parked state to a traveling state by the operation of an operator such as an occupant, if a blowing mode is in a differential mode and the outside air temperature exceeds a prescribed temperature, the vehicular air conditioner is controlled such that a compressor 41 is driven and the output of a request signal of an engine 50 is inhibited (set to an engine prohibition flag=1). If the outside air temperature exceeds the prescribed temperature, it is considered that the temperature of cooling water of the engine 50 and the temperature of a window glass 49a are almost close to the outside air temperature.
