<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable rolling elements to be incorporated into a circulation path of a guide device in a short period of time even if the rolling elements are precompressed products. <P>SOLUTION: Rolling element insertion holes 4 are disposed on a slider body 21. The rolling element insertion holes 4 are opened at a position which overlaps the return passage 212a of a member attachment surface and are extended in the length direction of leg parts, reaching a position where the cross-section of the return passage 212a is divided into two parts. The opening of the rolling element insertion holes 4 has a long-hole shape such that the size along the direction where the rolling elements move in the return passage 212a is larger than the size along the width direction. Accordingly, when balls 3 are introduced from the rolling element insertion holes 4, an open space exists in the direction where the rolling elements of inserted balls 3a move in the return passage 212a visible from the opening of the rolling element insertion holes 4.
