<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seam welding system by which large workpieces are made weldable appropriately by a simple technique. <P>SOLUTION: The seam welding system 1 includes: a robot arm 10; electrode rings 20 for inserting the workpieces W between them; motors 30 for revolving the electrode rings 20; torque sensors 40 for detecting torque which acts on the electrode rings 20; and a controlling device 50 for making the electrode rings 20 travel on the workpieces W by controlling the robot arm 10 and the motors 30. Unenergized-time torques which are detected with the torque sensors 40 when the electrode rings 20 are made to travel on the workpieces W, W are previously stored in the controlling device 50 and the controlling device 50 controls the drive of the motors 30 so as to bring an energized-time torque close to the unenergized-time torque on the basis of the difference between the energized-time torque and the unenergized-time torque which are detected with the torque sensors 40 when making the electrode rings 20 in an energized state travel on the workpieces W, W. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
