<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent wear of a rotor edge and a vane back face part without increasing the number of components and machining parts. <P>SOLUTION: This vane pump is structured such that opening directions of a plurality of slits 22 formed on a rotor 21 face a direction inclined with respect to the radial direction of the rotor 21. The center of gravity of each vane 3 is fitted in the slit 22 even when the vane 3 maximally projects from the slit 22. Component force FB of centrifugal force generated in rotation of the rotor 21 is generated in a direction of pressing the vane 3 against one surface in the slit 22. The component force FB functions as drag against frictional force FC generated when a tip of the vane 3 is brought into contact with the inner peripheral surface of a ring 11. The vane 3 is brought into surface contact with the one surface in the slit 22 to be stuck thereto.
