Alkenyl sulphonates of 5-30 carbon atoms are produced by sulphonating a mono-olefin with SO 3 diluted with an inert gas and neutralizing, wherein the mono-olefin incorporates a phenolic antioxidant. The preferred reactants and reaction conditions are the same as those disclosed in Specification 1,166,857, and the preferred anti-oxidant is 2,6-di-tertbutylphenol.</p> |
