SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SERCHING IMAGES USING CAPTION OF MOVING PICTURE IN KEYWORD

PURPOSE: An image search system using subtitles as keywords and a method thereof are provided to easily recommend and search for an image by extracting contents included in a conversation between characters as keywords besides objects or a background in a video scene. CONSTITUTION: A subtitle extracting unit(212) separates a digital video file from a synchronized subtitles file and extracts subtitles from the separated subtitles file. A keyword generating unit(213) analyzes the subtitles to generate keywords to be used for image search. A scene extracting unit(214) extracts a scene including corresponding subtitles contents of a digital video from the subtitles. A matching unit(215) compares subtitles contents by scene with the keywords to match a scene related to the keywords with a video file. A search service providing unit receives a search word for image search from a subscriber terminal and searches for the scene or the video file matched with the keyword in order to provide the same for the subscriber terminal.
