MULTI-STANDARD FRONT END USING WIDEBAND DATA CONVERTERS

PURPOSE: A multiple standard front end capable of using the wideband data converters is provided to reduce the area, costs, and power significantly compared to the previous designs. CONSTITUTION: A frequency multiplexer/demultiplexer module(404) receives an input analog signal including the received service contents of a first service and a second service through a communications medium. The frequency multiplexer/demultiplexer module generates a first and a second received analog signals showing the received service content of the first service and the received service content of the second service, respectively. A first and a second front end modules(406) amplify each of the first and the second received analog signal and generate a first and a second gain-controlled analog signals. A combiner(416) couples the first and the second gain-controlled analog signals and generates a first composite analog signal. An ADC(Analog Digital Converter)(408) receives the first composite analog signal and generates a first composite digital signal.
