COMPACT(PANAMAX) DRILLSHIP DESIGN METHOD

PURPOSE: A compact drillship design method is provided to reduce the amount of steel materials and construction costs by decreasing the size and specification of a ship even if the ship has same function as an existing drillship. CONSTITUTION: A compact drillship design method is as follows. A riser storage is installed inside a hull. The length, width, and deck height of a ship are 189m, 32.2m and 18.9m. An air draft is 72.3m, but it is decreased to 57.9m when the ship sails in a panama canal. A displacement is 54,000 ton.
