The assembly has a windscreen (1) fixed by an adhesive cord (4) on a rabbet (3) of each of two lateral openings of an upright side (2) of an opening of a vehicle. A lining (7) is mounted inside the vehicle to mask an interior surface of the opening and the adhesive cord. The lining carries a joint (8), which has a part (8a) projecting with respect to an edge (7a) of the lining so that the part of the joint seals clearance between the windscreen and the edge of the lining adjacent to the windscreen after fixation of the lining. The joint is fixed on an interior face (7b) of the lining.
