PURPOSE: A discharge lamp is provided to improve reliability by preventing the generation of a crack at a sealing tube when turning on. CONSTITUTION: An electrode supporting rod(22) supports an electrode inside a light emitting tube. A glass tube is welded to a sealing tube(20). The electrode supporting rod is inserted into the glass tube. A conductive disk member is connected to the electrode supporting rod. The conductive disk member electrically connects a metal film to the electrode supporting rod. A winding film(46) winds the outer periphery of the conductive disk member. One end of electrode side of the winding film is positioned at the electrode side.
