COMPOSITION FOR TREATING AND PREVENTING OBESITY CONTAINING ORIENTAL HERBAL EXTRACTS

PURPOSE: A composition containing a medicinal herb extract is provided to suppress body weight increase without toxicity in vivo and to be used in a health functional food and a pharmaceutical product. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating obesity contains extracts of Corni Fructus, Dioscorea Rhizome, Citrus aurantium, and Platicodi Radix as active ingredients. The extracts are prepared using C1-C4 alcohol or a mixture solvent thereof. The extracts include 15-30 wt% of Corni Fructus, 15-30 wt% of Dioscorea Rhizome, 15-30 wt% of Citrus aurantium fruit, and 15-30 wt% of Platicodi Radix. A health functional food for preventing or treating obesity contains the extracts as active ingredients.
