<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it difficult to discriminate contents of an image which has been erroneously transferred to a transfer member. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: a photoreceptor drum 11 which is rotatably arranged and holds a toner image on the outer circumferential surface thereof; a transfer drum 21 which is rotatably arranged and transfers the toner image on the photoreceptor drum 11 to a sheet S held between the drum itself and the photoreceptor drum 11; a leading-end gripper 22 and a rear-end gripper 23 that hold the sheet S, which is fed to the transfer drum 21, on the outer circumferential surface of the transfer drum 21. On the outer circumferential surface of the transfer drum 21, an elastic layer 21B constituted by an elastic member containing a foam body is attached. When an image for output is erroneously transferred to the elastic layer 21B, for example by a jamming of the sheet S, the image for output which has been erroneously transferred to the elastic layer 21B (the erroneously transferred image) is removed by applying a bias, after which an overwriting image is formed on the elastic layer 21B in order to camouflage the erroneously transferred image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
