<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable magnification display at an appropriate magnification depending on the complexity of an image. <P>SOLUTION: A magnification setting unit, for data on an image, using a region including a designated position designated to be magnified in the image as a magnification target region, sets a magnification for the magnification target region on the basis of an image feature amount indicating the complexity of an image in the magnification target region. A magnified image generation unit subjects the data on the image to magnification processing at the magnification set by the magnification setting unit to generate data of a magnified image.
