Each lens member includes an elongate opening (26) for receiving light from a group of emitters (61) aligned across the preferential/non-preferential line (2); a refracting inner surface (30) forming a void (27) and having a racetrack-shaped surrounding surface (32) extending from the opening (26) to a substantially planar elongate end surface (31); and a lateral surface (40) having opposed preferential and non-preferential surface portions (43 and 44), the non-preferential portion (44) being at an angle to the base plane (25) which is greater than the angle of the preferential portion (43) to the base plane (25).
