A fastener made from polymeric material, comprises a generally cylindrical body having a head 6, an axial bore 10 extending from the end opposite the head, a plurality of axially extending circumferentially spaced lands 16 in the wall of the bore, having concave inner surfaces and shoulder portions 20 spaced inwardly from the end, and ribs 22 on the exterior of the body. The bore 10 extends completely through the fastener, and has a countersink 12. The ribs may be formed helically. The bore may terminate adjacent the juncture of the body and head. The lands may be screwthreaded.
