An air inlet 50, built into the lower part of a door 13 of a self cleaning oven, comprises a series of elongated apertures 52 in a flange 29 of the outer door panel 25, a front chamber 53 extending the complete length of the door, two small communicating ducts 58 and a rear chamber 55 having outlet apertures 54 in a flange 32 on an inner panel 27. Fine mesh metal screens 60 are wedged into ducts 58 to act as flame arrestors. A woven fibreglass gasket 33 is held between inner panel 27 and inner door liner 26 to bear on the turned out flange 34 of the oven liner 12 and seal the cavity. As an additional sealing means a silicone rubber gasket 35 extends along the bottom edge of the door. The oven cavity and the door are lined with fibreglass. |
