摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of a hybrid electric vehicle, which is advantageous to the suppression of the deterioration of a battery caused by an excessive rise of a battery temperature while suppressing fuel consumption. <P>SOLUTION: A temperature rise rate operation means 48B calculates a temperature rise rate &alpha; which is a rise amount per unit time of the battery temperature TB on the basis of the battery temperature TB which is detected by a battery temperature sensor 46. An engine control means 48C starts a generator by starting an engine 22 when the temperature rise rate &alpha; calculated by the temperature rise rate operation means 48B is not lower than an engine start determination value &alpha;1 which is a preset threshold.
