Provided is a slide fastener with which slide fastener color designability can be increased by actively showing the color of the fastener element chains from the space between the left and right fastener tapes. The slide fastener (10) is provided with: a pair of fastener tapes (20); a pair of fastener element chains (30) that are sewn onto the respective opposing tape edges (20a) of the pair of fastener tapes (20) using sewing thread (33); and a slider (40) that engages/separates the pair of fastener element chains (30). The pair of fastener tapes (20) and the pair of fastener element chains (30) have colors that differ from each other. The slide fastener (10) is used in such a way that the fastener element chains (30) are inside out. The width dimension (A) of the space (S) between the pair of fastener tapes (20) is set to be 10 - 25% of the width dimension (B) of the pair of fastener element chains (30) when engaged. The color of the fastener element chains (30) can be seen from the front side of the slide fastener (10) through the space (S).
