<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid ejection head having a vibration plate member superior in thickness uniformity of an electroforming film, especially in its thin wall part, and capable of reducing the contact of a bridge part with members such as a recording medium and wiper blade, while keeping a high productivity, and to provide an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid ejection head has a liquid chamber unit 20 comprising a nozzle plate 23, a flow path member 22 forming a liquid chamber 25 communicating to a nozzle 24, and a vibration plate member 21 forming part of the wall surface of the liquid chamber 25 being laminated and joined. The vibration plate member 21 is composed of two or more electroforming layers, its part opposite to the liquid chamber 25 comprises the thin wall part 21a and thick wall parts 21b, 21c, two or more cut bridge parts 51 are formed on the outer periphery thereof, and the thin wall part 21a is formed in at least a portion of the area between the adjacent bridge parts.
