<p>An image forming apparatus capable of performing both of stabilization of image density on a short-term basis and that on a long-term basis in a compatible manner. A CPU predicts an amount of electrostatic charge of toner particles in a developer container, sets a potential forming condition for image creation, and forms a toner image to be fixed on a recording medium, on a photosensitive drum according to the set potential forming condition. The CPU forms a pattern image for controlling a toner replenishment amount, on the photosensitive drum, under a potential forming condition which is set independently of the potential forming condition for image creation, and controls the amount of toner to be supplied to the developer container such that density of the pattern image, detected by an optical sensor, becomes equal to a target density.</p> |
