A backlight structure and an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device having the same are provided to check that the bright line is not generated in an LCD panel by forming prism mountains of an area near a lamp so as to have an angle of inclination locally different from prism mountains of the neighboring area, thereby obtaining uniform brightness. An LCD device comprises a lower cover(132), a lamp housing(134), a light guide plate(136), a reflection plate(138), a prism sheet(146a), a protection sheet(146b), and an LCD panel(150). The lamp housing is provided in at least one side on the lower cover and includes a lamp(130) emitting light. The light guide plate is disposed on the lower cover and forms prism mountains in the lower part to concentrate and diffuse the light from the lamp. The reflection plate is disposed in the lower part of the light guide plate to reflect the light from the lamp. The prism sheet is loaded on the upper part of the light guide plate. The prism mountains near the lamp housing are asymmetrically formed for prism mountains of the other area to weaken the intensity of light from the lamp transmitting the area. The protection sheet is loaded on the prism sheet to diffuse the light. The LCD panel is disposed to be spaced from the protection sheet at a predetermined distance. |
