PROCESS FOR PRODUCING BORON NITRIDE NANOTUBES, BORON NITRIDE NANOTUBE, USE OF THE BORON NITRIDE NANOTUBE, AND METHOD FOR TRANSFORMING BACTERIA

The application defines a process for producing boron nitride nanotubes comprising the steps of: a) mixing the reagents; b) heat treatment; c) heat treatment under inert nitrogen atmosphere; d) addition of ammonia gas; e) cooling; f) addition of ammonium nitrate; g) heat treatment under inert nitrogen atmosphere; h) cooling; i) purification: i1) treatment with an acid solution; i2) filtration; and i3) drying. The weight ratio of the reagents in the mixture of boron, ammonium nitrate and hematite can vary between 15:45:1 and 15:15:1. The application also relates to the nanotube produced by the process claimed, use of the nanotube for transforming bacteria, controlled release of active principles and a cell transfection agent. A method for transforming bacteria (heat shock) is also claimed, wherein boron nitride nanotubes are used to enable cell membrane permeation.
