<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an embroidery frame device for a sewing machine, in which an embroidery frame can be securely attached to an embroidery frame driving device of a sewing machine with an embroidery sewing function so as not to be rattled, and which has a simple structure. <P>SOLUTION: An embroidery frame device for a sewing machine includes: embroidery frame driving means B of a sewing machine with an embroidery sewing function; a carriage 5 provided on the embroidery frame driving means B; and an embroidery frame A including a frame part 1 which includes an inner frame 12 and an outer frame 11, and an attachment part A1 attached to the carriage 5 on the embroidery frame driving means B of the sewing machine. The embroidery frame device for the sewing machine further includes: frame fixing means 4 for connecting and fixing the attachment part A1 to the carriage 5; and guide means 3 including a recessed part 31 having a tapered inner side surface 31a narrowing toward a bottom 31f, and a protruding part 32 facing the recessed part 31 and having a tapered outer side surface 32a narrowing toward a top part 32t.
