PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for promoting communications between users through an application executed on a cloud computing system.

SOLUTION: There is provided an application providing method in a client-server type system for providing game applications to plural users via a network. The method causes computing resources of a server to execute the steps of: providing a game application selected by a first user using a client terminal connected to the server, to the first user; providing the game application provided to the first user to a second user specified by the first user after the first user finishes the game application; and notifying the client terminals of the first user and the second user of the degree of game achievement of the first user and the degree of game achievement of the second user after the second user finishes the game application.
