A maritime emergency position indicating system is provided. In the invention, wireless communication between a beacon and a search apparatus can be performed, and when a person carrying the beacon has fallen into the water, the power supply of the beacon can be automatically or manually switched on in the case of falling into water, and then the beacon transmits outwards a wireless distress signal. When a rescue ship or aircraft equipped with the search engine leaves for an accident location for rescue, the ship or aircraft can search and receive the distress signal transmitted by the beacon in a sea area with the radius of more than 5km along the way, and the search engine can learn the position and approximate distance of the person falling into water and carrying the bean relative to the search engine by adopting a radio positioning technology so as to help search and rescue workers carry out fixed-point rescue. Therefore, the maritime emergency position indicating system provided by the invention has the beneficial effects of overcoming influence on maritime search and rescue in the case of severe weather, accelerating the search and rescue progress and improving the success probability of fixed-point rescue.
