The method involves measuring current at transfer point of power grid for wind turbine. A capacitor (3) is controlled for performing reactive power compensation or overcompensation of wind turbine (4). The current measurement is analyzed to determine whether the unwanted resonance states exist in reactive power compensation or overcompensation of wind turbine. The adjustment of capacitor is varied when unwanted resonance states exist in reactive power compensation or overcompensation of wind turbine. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a wind turbine; and (2) a control unit for wind turbine.
