A detergent composition comprises one or more organic surface active agents, or one or more builder salts, or a mixture thereof; glucose and glucose oxidase, or starch, amyloglucosidase and glucose oxidase, as a hydrogen peroxide precursor; and hydroxylamine or a salt thereof. Preferred salts of hydroxylamine are the sulphate, nitrate, fluosilicate, chloride and bromide. The organic surface active agent may be any of the conventional anionic, cationic or nonionic detergents. The builder salt may be NTA (Na salt), sodium and potassium phosphates, silicates, carbonates, bicarbonates, borates, sulphates and chlorides. The composition may also contain CMC, polyvinylpyrrolidone or N- benzoyl succinimide. The composition preferably contains 15-30% by weight of glucose or starch; 2À5-5% by weight of amyloglucosidase when starch is used; 2À5-5% by weight of glucose oxidase; and 1-3% by weight of hydroxylamine or a salt thereof. |
