A package for sterilized materials, e.g. a suture and needle, is formed by a dish 11 sealed at 31, by high frequency welding or adhesive, to a sheet of plastics 28 laminated with metal foil 12. A bridge member 13 formed of vinylidene-laminated aluminium foil is sealed at its ends to the outer members thereby holding the contents in place. A part 24 of the package, which carries a label 29, may be torn off at a notch 26, and the contents of the package removed through its open end. The dish 11 may be of plasticized or unplasticized p.v.c., of metal foil or of plastic-laminated metal foil and may be transparent or opaque; it may be formed by pressing, blow-moulding or vacuum moulding. The member 12 may be of a plastics material similar to the dish 11 or of metal foil. |
