PURPOSE: A slab measuring device is provided to control a heating condition of a furnace by measuring the weight, length, and thickness of a slab stopped at a measurement position with an upper measurement unit and lateral surface measurement unit, thereby enhancing the thermal efficiency of the furnace. CONSTITUTION: A slab measuring device comprises a position sensor unit(20), a lateral surface measuring unit(30), an upper measuring unit(40), and a controlling unit. The position sensor unit senses whether a slab moving along a transferring roller reaches to a measurement position or not. The lateral surface measuring unit measures a lateral surface shape of the slab reached to the measurement position as images. The upper measuring unit measures a shape of the upper part of the slab reached to the measurement position as images. The moving unit moves the lateral surface measuring unit and upper measuring unit along the slab. The controlling unit controls the operation of the moving unit and receives measurement values of the lateral surface measuring unit and upper measuring unit, thereby calculating an external shape of the slab. |
