PURPOSE: A flat knitting machine including a complex needle, and a controlling method of a slider for the flat knitting machine are provided to make a hanging process of a knitting yarn to a tongue difficult. CONSTITUTION: A flat knitting machine including a complex needle comprises a drive cam unit(40) which controls the position of a slider(13) on a knit route passing through a slider drive butt(23) by the following: controlling the lower position on the backing-up direction from a needle bed gap, to make a knitting yarn supplied from a yarn feeder hard to be hanged to a tongue(13a); or controlling the progressive direction toward the needle bed gap, to make an old stitch combined to the tongue hard to be fallen into a hook(12a).
