<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle lamp in which the appearance of the vehicle lamp does not change regardless of daytime or night time. <P>SOLUTION: The headlamp (vehicle lamp) 1: can irradiate ahead of own vehicle with the light satisfying a prescribed light distribution safety standards obtained, in a lighting mode for night time traveling in which a first lamp 10 is lighted, by synthesizing a light from a dimmed second lamp 20 and the light from the first lamp 10; and thereby has the design recognized as the vehicle lamp provided by combining the first lamp 10 and the second lamp 20 even during dark night time.
