A lithium rechargeable battery and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to prevent a discharge of an electrolyte and have a simple production process by omitting a laser welding. A lithium rechargeable battery(200) includes an electrode assembly(220), a can(210) for accommodating the electrode assembly, and a cap assembly(230) which seals a top opening of the can and has a cap plate(240). An auxiliary hole(242) is formed on the cap plate or the can. An electrolyte injection member(280) made of a resin material has a through hole(245) formed in the center and adheres to the inner periphery of the auxiliary hole. |
