PURPOSE: An information reception method related to applications of a portable terminal and apparatus thereof are provided to transmit application call information by using text messages. CONSTITUTION: In case received SMS(Short Message Service) messages are ASMS(Application SMS messages), an SoIP(Storage Over VoIP) portable terminal determines the confirmation ASMS or the prompt ASMS(S302,S303). In case the received SMS is the confirmation ASMS, an SMS client stores the received ASMS in a message reception box(S305). When operating signals are inputted by a user, an application control module transmits information request messages related to the application to an application providing server(S306,S307). The application control module receives the information related to the application from the application providing server(S308). |
