<p>PURPOSE: A mobile terminal including a mode conversion function and an operating method thereof are provided to perform automatic back-up and restoration without the organization of tasks by manipulating a UI(User Interface) for terminating unnecessary work. CONSTITUTION: A switch(230) generates a mode conversion signal. A mode performing and converting unit(250) performs one of modes according to a kind of an identified external connecting device. The mode performing and converting unit sequentially circulates and converts each mode for every conversion signal when receiving the mode conversion signal. A restoring unit(270) backs up one or more parts of tasks when converting one of the modes. The restoring unit restores the backed up tasks when converting another one of the modes.
