A backlight unit and an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device having the same are provided to simplify assembly, reduce production cost by bending an FPCB(Flexible Printed Circuit Board) and inserting the FPCB into a cover bottom, and improve efficiency by preventing hot spot by reducing gaps between a reflective layer and a light guide plate and between a light emitting lamp and the light guide plate. An LCD device includes an LCD panel and a backlight unit. The backlight unit includes at least one light emitting lamp(211), a light guide plate(213), an FPCB(212) as a light emitting lamp driving circuit, and a cover bottom(215). The at least one light emitting lamp supplies light to the LCD panel. The light guide plate has a groove formed in a side of the light emitting lamp. The FPCB has an opening part in a side, has the light emitting lamp and the light guide plate in a position corresponding to the opening part. Both ends of the FPCB are partially extended to the upper side and lower side of the side of the light guide plate and are mounted to the groove of the light guide plate. The cover bottom is formed in a shape that a side is opened to cover the rear of the FPCB. An end of the upper side of the light guide plate is partially extended to the rear of the FPCB. An end of the lower side of the light guide plate is partially extended longer than the FPCB. The cover bottom covers the edge of the rear of the light guide plate. |
