Separating solids from liquids

Waste is aerated in a tank into which it is continuously fed and from which it is continuously drawn off. During the drawing-off, the waste is conveyed in a relatively thin layer upwards along a surface inclined at an angle of at least approx. 45 degrees to the horizontal, the lower end of the surface being immersed in the tank, so that the solids in the waste settle on this surface and continuously slide back into the tank.
