<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording apparatus which can predict the life span of an inkjet recording head with high accuracy to prolong the life span. <P>SOLUTION: The minimum value of a driving parameter of a recording nozzle which discharges ink with a decreasing tendency is measured as a discharge frequency increases from the mounting of the recording head, the life span is predicted based on a temporal variation character of the measured value, and the operation frequency of the recording nozzle before the predicted life span to reduce the burden on the recording nozzle and prevent a failure, thereby prolonging the life span of the recording head. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
