<p>A work machine configured such that the maximum value for absorption torque for a hydraulic pump is changed to a higher value when the work machine is in a specified state, and wherein the issues occurring when an operation lever is operated at an intermediate lever stroke position are resolved, said issues being: vibration in the machine body caused by switching of the maximum absorption torque setting; and an adverse impact on operability and violent shaking of the machine body, when the operation lever is moved relative to the machine body. When the maximum absorption torque setting is at a position (E2), being the maximum absorption torque setting having good fuel efficiency, and full operation of either or both a boom operation member (21e) and running operation members (21a, 21b) is detected, the work machine is controlled so as to automatically switch to a position (E1) having a greater maximum absorption torque setting than the position (E2).</p> |
