<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outboard motor that prevents false detection of overheating while preventing an increase in the number of parts. <P>SOLUTION: The outboard motor includes an exhaust pipe that includes an outer wall section 62, an inner wall section 63, a coolant passage 64, and a constricted section 65. The inner wall section is arranged inward of the outer wall section. The coolant passage is arranged between the outer wall section and the inner wall section. The constricted section is configured to constrict a flow cross section of the coolant passage. A catalytic is housed in the exhaust pipe.
