The present invention relates to a system for monitoring a spent fuel storage tub in real time and a method for same, and more specifically, to a system for monitoring a spent fuel storage tub in real time and a method for same, which use status information and input information that are detected from a sensor in a tub in which spent fuel is stored, so as to calculate a danger water level of a nuclear fuel storage tub, thereby monitoring same. To this end, the present invention comprises: a detection portion for detecting the status information including temperature, water level, and pressure information of the nuclear fuel storage tub through the sensor that is installed inside the storage tub; an input saving portion for receiving component information of the spent fuel and record information related to combustion, and saving same; a calculation/determination portion for calculating current status information of the spent fuel by using the status information, which is detected from the detection portion, and the component information and the record information that is saved on the input saving portion, and for determining the danger water level by comparing the current status information and a limit value of the danger water level; a display portion for displaying the current status information that is calculated by the calculation/determination portion, and for displaying the danger water level that is determined; and an alarm portion for generating an alarm signal when the calculation/determination portion determines that the current status information yields a high-danger level that exceeds the limit value of the danger water level.
