The present invention relates to a composition of an aqueous polyimide precursor solution wherein a polyamic acid obtained by reacting a tetracarboxylic acid component and a diamine component is dissolved in an aqueous solution together with an imidazole in an amount that, in terms of moles, is at least 1.6-times the amount of the tetracarboxylic acid component of the polyamic acid.
