<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide dye-sensitized photovoltaic power generation that is simple to implement, inexpensive, and usable indoors and outdoors, and that has improved durability and optical conversion efficiency, and is able to generate during night too, in contrast to currently main stream silicon-based photovoltaic power generation which is expensive to implement and requires a large operational area to obtain a large amount of power. <P>SOLUTION: An invented battery of dye-sensitized photovoltaic power generation is simple, new and something like a PN-type solar cell made of semiconductor about which, in a battery and dye-sensitized photovoltaic generation, conventional iodide electrolyte is not used in a cell as much as possible, iodine and iodide chemical compound are used in a state close to solid or semi-solid, and iodine is sealed off.
