<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that efficient utilization of power is inhibited because power supply from the power source is restricted in conformity to the case that the environment temperature is high, even when the use environment temperature of the device is low. <P>SOLUTION: A proper recording mode is selected by measuring a given part or the environment temperature of the recording device using a temperature sensor, and comparing a threshold determined accordingly with a drive number of a recording element used for recording a region recorded in one scanning.
