<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sintered zirconia compact, which has a sensuousness equivalent to natural teeth, has a color tone and light-transmitting properties equivalent to natural teeth, and has a high strength. <P>SOLUTION: The colored and light-transmitting sintered zirconia compact contains an iron compound and 2-4 mol% of yttria, shows a lightness L* in L*a*b* color system of 51-80, and has a relative density of 99.80% or greater. When measured by using a D65 light source at a sample thickness of 1 mm, the total light-ray transmittance of the colored sintered zirconia compact is preferably 20% or greater. The colored and light-transmitting sintered zirconia compact is particularly suitable as a sintered zirconia compact to be used for dental purposes, and in particular, suitable as a mill blank such as an artificial tooth material or as an orthodontic bracket. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
