<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device of a FFS (Fringe Field Switching) mode having excellent display quality, in which display can be observed in a landscape and portrait while wearing polarizing sunglasses without newly adding a component. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device comprises: alignment layers having alignment directions inclined at an angle α of 0°<α<90° to the extension direction of a gate wiring 43; a pixel electrode 6; slits formed on a common electrode oppositely arranged on the pixel electrode 6 via insulator films and generating fringe electric field in liquid crystals 20 between the slits and the pixel electrode 6. The common electrode is formed to straddle over adjacent pixels and to cover a source wiring 44 via the insulator film. The inside of the pixel is divided by a border line extending in the alignment direction, and the slit has a plurality of first slits A and second slits B inclined at an angle of ±θ to the extension direction of the border line and arranged in each region, and has a polarizer having an absorption axis set in the alignment direction in a second substrate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
